Category AFRICAN ACCENT VOICEOVER FOR E-LEARNING   PROJECT
Date SEPTEMBER, 2021
Client WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION (WHO).

Challenge

The World Health Organization (WHO) needed a voice for Self-help Plus (SH+), a five-hour, 45,000-word e-learning course designed to teach stress management to adults. The catch? It had to be delivered in English with an authentic African accent—capturing cultural nuance and warmth—to connect with a diverse global audience, all under a tight deadline.

Solution

I stepped in, bringing my expertise as an African accent voiceover talent with a versatile West African accent. From my professional-grade studio, I recorded the extensive script with clarity and empathy. Collaborating with WHO’s team for real-time feedback, I ensured every word resonated. The final files were delivered in high-quality WAV format via FTP within agreed timelines. The recording is now hosted on the WHO website here: https://www.who.int/publications/i/item/9789240035119.

Result

The SH+ course launched to widespread acclaim, reaching thousands of learners worldwide. Its authentic, soothing narration boosted engagement, with WHO reporting a significant increase in course completion rates. The project’s success strengthened my ongoing partnership with WHO, showcasing the impact of an African voice in global health education. The final recordings were also published in the internationally recognized medical journal PLOS Medicine here: https://journals.plos.org/plosmedicine/article?id=10.1371/journal.pmed.1004025.

Category NIGERIAN ACCENT VOICEOVER FOR COMMERCIAL PROJECT
Date 2023
Client SPOTIFY

Challenge

Spotify, a global streaming giant, needed a vibrant Nigerian accent voiceover for a TV and radio commercial campaign to captivate its African audience. The challenge? Crafting an exciting delivery that blended English with authentic Nigerian slang—think ‘omo’ and ‘wetin dey’—while meeting the fast-paced demands of a high-profile ad rollout." Why It Works: Frames the difficulty (cultural authenticity, tight timeline), uses Nigerian slang examples for flavor, and hooks the reader with Spotify’s scale.

Solution

I delivered a dynamic Nigerian-accented voiceover from my professional studio,  infusing the script with local flair. The recording session was directed live over Zoom by Spotify’s team and their agency, I recorded multiple takes—honing the energy and rhythm until we nailed the perfect read. High-quality audio files were finalized and sent via secure file-sharing within a few  hours.

Result

The client and agency loved the outcome—a punchy commercial that aired seamlessly on TV and radio, synced to video with precision. The campaign resonated with listeners, boosting Spotify’s regional engagement. Check out the final spot here: https://youtu.be/IKEzyeohP3k.
